We held our AGM on 29th September and were excited to give out many awards and prizes. We gave special thanks to our treasurer of over 15 years Lynne. We awarded Cub of the year to Gino for his kindness, enthusiasm, and showing the scout values at all times, and Scout of the year to Dorian for being involved in all activities and being a great role model. We also invested 4 new cubs and celebrated the fact that 50 years ago Graham Wagg, our Scout leader, joined cubs for the first time and has been involved in Scouting ever since – a magnificent achievement. Very excitingly we were able to award 2 more Scouts their chief Scout gold award – Megan and Kathleen.
They have worked so hard to achieve this during lockdown by doing their own research into aspects of the world challenge badge and presenting written evidence, thinking outside the box for volunteering and going on weekly local litter picks, and achieving some parts of the badges on zoom. All at 17th Forest Hill as so proud of their commitment to scouts and their desire to achieve the highest award – Well done.
