Scout Active Support
Scout Active Support allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.
It provides a resource for Managers of local Scouting including Group Scout Leaders, District Commissioners and County/Area Commissioners, who can use it in whichever way is required.
Aims:
To give active support in Scouting by
- Providing opportunities to those who are unable to be active every week and to keep in touch
- Participating in social activities run by the Scout Active Support for members and friends
- Giving leaders and other members of the district an opportunity to participate in Scout Active Support Activities
- Offering support for District events
Who can join?
- Anyone aged 18 and above
- Adult leaders who hold appointments
- Members of the Scout Network
Other details:
You may become a full member of the Scout Association. An annual subscription fee of approximately £26 is payable.
If you choose then you may take part in some activities but you must be CRB checked (Criminal Records Bureau) if you are dealing directly with young people in the movement
Scout groups can also have their own Scout Active Support – further information from the Scout Active Support Manager
